The World Trade Center in Moscow hosted the 2nd “Russia and the World: Healthy Longevity Trends” Forum. Organised jointly by the Executive Office of the Government of the Russian Federation and the Roscongress Foundation, the event featured a comprehensive business programme packed with over 20 expert discussions across six thematic tracks: “Public Health and Innovation,” “The Mechanisms of Aging and the Possibility of Managing Biological Age,” “Arts and Culture: Integration with Medicine,” “Regions of Russia,” “Effective Promotion,” and “Nutrition and Biologically Active Dietary Supplements.” The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Russian Scientific Center for Surgery named after Academician B.V. Petrovsky served as organizational partners.
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent an official greeting to the Forum’s participants and guests. “It is deeply gratifying that this Forum is becoming a tradition, once again bringing together renowned scientists, clinicians, public figures, healthcare experts, and food producers from across the nation. This platform allows you to continue a serious, substantive dialogue on a wide range of critical issues — from preserving public health and elevating quality of life to increasing healthy life expectancy and improving our broader demographic landscape,” Vladimir Putin emphasized.
The Forum’s key sessions were moderated by an array of senior federal leaders and prominent public figures, including: Tatyana Golikova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation; Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education; Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health; Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture; Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade; Olga Krivonos, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Government of the Russian Federation; Artyom Zdunov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia; Veronika Skvortsova, Head of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia (FMBA); Anna Popova, Head of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor); Svetlana Orlova, Auditor of the Accounts Chamber; Maria Vorontsova, Director of the Medical Scientific and Educational Institute, Lomonosov Moscow State University; and Vladimir Mashkov, People’s Artist of Russia, Chairman of the Russian Theatre Union, and Artistic Director of both the Oleg Tabakov Moscow Theatre and the Moscow Sovremennik Theatre.
“The Second Forum ‘Russia and the World: Healthy Longevity Trends’ has clearly demonstrated the immense demand for an open, professional dialogue on preserving health and extending healthy lifespans,’ noted Tatyana Golikova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. “Over our two days of work, we hosted deep, meaningful discussions that successfully brought together federal authorities, regional leaders, the scientific and medical communities, businesses, non-profit organizations, and international experts. For us, it was vital not only to explore emerging scientific approaches and promising technologies, but also to align our vision with the regions, identify best practices, and evaluate which field-tested solutions are ready to be scaled nationwide. This work will absolutely continue. A defining hallmark of the Forum was its truly holistic approach to healthy longevity. We looked far beyond traditional healthcare delivery, examining how science, culture, art, education, sports, social policy, and grassroots regional initiatives intersect to foster active and healthy lives. It is precisely this integrated approach that empowers us to create an environment where healthy longevity evolves from a mere public health objective into an overarching national strategy — one that elevates the quality of life and actively develops our country’s human capital.”
The plenary session, titled “Russia and the World: Healthy Longevity Trends. Goal, Strategy, Tactics,” took place on the second day of the Forum. “A new paradigm of medicine is emerging globally — one that shifts the focus from anticipating illness to the early detection of underlying health risks and the proactive maintenance of a healthy life,” noted Tatyana Golikova. “In 2024, Abu Dhabi became one of the first jurisdictions to approve formal standards for healthy longevity centres and license a specialized facility. However, in most parts of the world, these efforts remain a fragmented collection of individual initiatives. A comprehensive nation-wide system with uniform operational standards, structured patient routing, and coverage integrated into state-guaranteed medical care does not yet exist anywhere outside of Russia. Russia has already taken the next major step forward by adopting the necessary regulatory framework. In 2026, following the presidential decree approving our new Healthcare Development Strategy until 2030, the State Guarantees Programme for Free Medical Care explicitly incorporated new provisions to launch the phased establishment of healthy longevity medicine centres across our regions.” As part of the “Long and Active Life” national project, regions are actively procuring research equipment and modernizing their laboratory facilities. Additionally, a new professional designation has been established: physicians specializing in healthy longevity medicine.
“Healthy longevity issues today unite the professional community far beyond national borders,” emphasized Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation. “The ‘Russia and the World: Healthy Longevity Trends’ Forum has emerged as a platform where Russian and international experts discuss groundbreaking scientific advancements, exchange best practices, and chart future development trajectories. It is essential that Russia not only actively contributes to this dialogue but also acts as a primary catalyst in shaping the global agenda for healthy longevity.”
Vladimir Mashkov, Chairman of the Russian Theatre Union and Artistic Director of both the Oleg Tabakov Moscow Theatre and the Moscow Sovremennik Theatre, presented the findings of a study exploring the positive impact of creative engagement on cognitive health. Conducted at the Russian Scientific Center of Surgery named after Academician B.V. Petrovsky, the research revealed that creative professionals demonstrate exceptional precision and select a distinct ‘quality over speed’ strategy, resulting in fewer impulsive errors. Furthermore, these individuals recorded superior creativity metrics and consistently high scores on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) test.
Tatyana Golikova noted that healthy longevity medicine is inherently interdepartmental, encompassing a broad range of interconnected sectors and activities. The core mission of the Movement is to drive the development and adoption of healthy longevity medicine and health-saving technologies across the population, fostering a widespread culture of wellness to protect public health. “I urge all regions to proactively deploy and support this Regional Movement,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
Complementing the business programme, the Forum’s exhibition space showcased cutting-edge domestic innovations and technologies shaping the future of healthy longevity. Forum participants were introduced to the Centre for Healthy Longevity Medicine’s core operational model, alongside the findings from a groundbreaking comprehensive study on regional obesity risk factors and healthy longevity indicators. The presentation also showcased innovative solutions in disease prevention, advanced diagnostics, and health promotion. Visitors showed particular interest in interactive demonstrations that allowed them to assess their biological age, explore modern approaches to personalized health management, and sample health-food products from Russian manufacturers. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova, Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, and Director of the Russian Scientific Centre of Surgery Konstantin Kotenko took part in the official tour of the exhibition.
Participants and guests of the Forum enjoyed a performance of the play “Like-minded People” by the Sovremennik Theatre, alongside an exhibition featuring graduation works by students of the Academy of Watercolor and Fine Arts of Sergey Andriaka, as well as masterpieces by the artist himself.
Attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova, the business brunch brought together heads of federal government bodies, regional leaders, public and business representatives, artists, and a distinguished group of scientists who are living full professional lives at or near 90 years of age. Among the prominent attendees were Prof. Vladimir Dadali, 89, an author of over 300 scientific papers, and leading expert in biochemistry and micronutrient pharmacology who has made significant contributions to nutrition science; Claudio Franceschi, 80, an Italian professor of immunology and one of the world’s leading researchers in aging and longevity; Alexander Konovalov, 92, a Full Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation, and outstanding neurosurgeon who pioneered microneurosurgery in Russia; and Larisa Moshetova, 87, a Full Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and eminent ophthalmologist. The guest list also featured celebrated cultural figures, including Svetlana Druzhinina, 90, People’s Artist of Russia; Anna Shatilova, 87, People’s Artist of the RSFSR; Olga Yakovleva, 85, People’s Artist of the RSFSR; Anna Petrova, 96, Honoured Arts Worker of the Russian Federation, Ph.D. in Art History, and Professor of the Department of Stage Speech at the Moscow Art Theatre School; Mikhail Lavrovsky, 84, People’s Artist of the RSFSR; and Stanislav Lyubshin, 93, People’s Artist of the RSFSR.
“When we launched this Forum, our primary objective was to demonstrate that healthy longevity extends far beyond the realm of traditional medicine,” noted Anastasia Stolkova, First Deputy Director for Development at the Roscongress Foundation and member of the Healthcare Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. “Today, it represents a comprehensive philosophy centred on quality of life, where scientific breakthroughs, culture, education, nutrition, physical activity, urban environments, and proactive personal health management are all equally vital. Judging by the depth of the discussions, the active engagement of our participants, and the vast number of new professional alliances formed, we have successfully established a platform where visionaries connect and real-world projects are born. This is precisely what we view as the Forum’s defining achievement and its catalyst for future growth. We set out to create a space where healthy longevity is championed as the very future of society — and I am confident we have succeeded.”
On the sidelines of the Forum, the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Roscongress Foundation signed a strategic cooperation agreement to cultivate a widespread culture of healthy longevity. The partnership aims to engage the public in creative pursuits while leveraging art and culture to promote health-saving technologies. A key focus of the agreement will be supporting and scaling the Regional Movement for Healthy Longevity Medicine. The document was officially signed by Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova and Roscongress Foundation CEO Alexander Stuglev.
During the Forum, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova presented state awards to Artyom Zdunov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia; Alexey Moskalev, Director of the Institute of Biology of Aging and Healthy Longevity Medicine and the Preventive Medicine Clinic at the Russian Scientific Center of Surgery named after B.V. Petrovsky; and Inna Reshetova, Chief Physician of the same Clinic.
The event also featured an awards ceremony honouring the winners of a competition among non-profit organizations, associations, bloggers, and media outlets for their work in promoting healthy longevity medicine and collaborating with regional executive bodies. The competition was jointly launched by the Government of the Russian Federation and the Roscongress Foundation, inviting non-profit organizations, bloggers, and media outlets focused on promoting healthy longevity medicine and the Regional Movement for Healthy Longevity Medicine. In the “Text Content” category, Mail.ru’s Healthy Longevity project secured first place, while an initiative by the Penza Region Ministry of Healthcare won top honours in the “Creative Content” category.
