The official website for the “Ensuring Drug Security” Forum, which takes place on 3 June 2026, on the opening day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), has published the prominent speaker lineup for its core plenary session, titled “Drug Security as a Pillar of Health Protection.” The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation, with support from the Russian Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the State Duma Committee on Healthcare.

“Drug security today stands as an integral component of national security and a fundamental prerequisite for safeguarding public health,” emphasized Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation. “The pharmaceutical sector must not only embrace technological and digital modernization, but also pivot toward a fundamentally innovative development model — one centred on engineering original domestic medications, expanding full-cycle manufacturing, and maximizing our scientific potential. At the same time, our ultimate strategic goal must extend beyond simply securing technological sovereignty; we must establish Russian therapeutics and innovations as global leaders. Achieving this requires the consolidated efforts of regulatory authorities, manufacturers, and the broader scientific, expert, and medical communities.”
A comprehensive drug security system serves as the foundational cornerstone for safeguarding and elevating public health. By combining stringent government regulation, manufacturing oversight, and the deployment of advanced tracking systems, Russia ensures a continuous and stable supply of high-quality, safe, and effective medications.
